We had a blessed time on ladies night, (Thanks Judy) as we rode to Hesston Scoops for a great shake!
Don’t forget about Thunder on the Smokey – Saturday at Marquette. We are meeting at the Kwik Shop on 43rd and Plum. We meet at 7:45 and will be leaving at 8:00. This is always a great ride and fun to see all the bikes that come to Marquette. Hope to see all you there!
God speed and keep your bike on your side of the road!
Dave Depew – had a motorcycle accident in Arkansas where he lives. He broke his collar bone, 8 ribs and messed up a knee that had just been worked on a few months ago. Doctors say that the knee will have to be redone, bones will heal but will be very sore for about a year with his ribs. Pray for Dave and Brenda during this healing process. I realize that most of KIR has gotten personal emails and updates on Dave but this is to anyone who is not on the email list or knows Dave.
Thanks for the vote of confidence for the existing officers. All were voted back in – or did I just hear a train whistle! Honestly we will try to make this riding season enjoyable and have some activities that all will enjoy.
Please contact any of the officers for any questions, comments or suggestions on what we should do, or where we may ride to this year. I am sure much more to come!
Just to refresh your memory:
President: Mark Classen
Vice President: Dennis Board
Road Captain: Paul Harshberger
Alternate Road Captain: Steve Rogers
Webmaster: Bryan Brubaker
Beginning Monday April 2nd we will start our milkshake runs. Again we will meet at the Kwik Shop in the parking lot of Kmart on 30th street in Hutchinson. They will be open rides until after the organizational meeting and new officers decide on the rides.
Organizational meeting will be on Saturday April 7th at 5:00 pm at the Buhler Park. This will be a family outing – ok to bring the kids but the club will take a short time to elect officers and talk of what you want for the coming year. The club will provide hamburgers – hot dogs and buns. We will also provide water to drink – otherwise if you come you can BYOD (bring your own drink), chips or a desert.. Hope to see everybody there and new riders are encouraged to come to meet us all. I know that this is tough but could you email me as to how many you plan to bring – so we can have enough hamburgers and hot dogs, THANKS!
Just to let you know that the first monthly run will again be to Wenoka, OK for the Rattlesnake Roundup. This will be Saturday April 14th and we will meet at the Truck Stop in South Hutch. Leave at 8:00 am – some will go and eat breakfast at 7:30 – great breakfast buffet! Mark your calendar.

As you all know Steve Rogers’ brother died earlier this week and his funeral is this Saturday at 10:00 am in Colby, Ks. Steve has asked 5 of us to be pall bearers for Dane, so Dennis Board, Paul Harshberger, Tim Spicer, Rueben Miller and myself are going to do that. We are going up on Friday night and will be staying at the Super 8 in Colby. The funeral will be at Harrison Chapel, 190 S Franklin Avenue, Colby, KS. Their phone number is 785-462-2331. The Iron Riders will be sending a floral arrangement from the club. If you would want to contribute to it, send the money to me, it will be signed as from the Kansas Ironriders.
It would be great to see a bunch of us up there for the funeral so if you think that you could make it, that would really make Dane’s family feel great, not to say show our support for Steve. If you would like to come in earlier call ahead to the Super 8 and the rooms are 59.00 if you call. On line they are 69.00. The Super 8 phone number is 785-462-8248. Please keep Steve and Cinda, and Dane’s family in your prayers. Please try to come if at all possible.
